House of Fraser Oxford street has nasty sales assistants!

September 28, 2008

This Saturday I ventured into Oxford street for a good old shop with my little sis …

Normally I would not go into central London for a shop on a Saturday as it’s just too crowded, but we wanted to pop into Selfridges, House of Fraser and also go to the Flagship Topshop as I wanted their lace up peep toe shoe boots and I also wanted to pick up these super fab French Connection boots I saw online at Kurt Geiger.

My sister wanted to shop around for new foundation and this quest led us to try out numerous beauty products in Selfridges. We ended up in Selfridges’s and my sister had her make-up done and she looked completely fantastic so fantastic that she spend a small fortunate on new make-up.

I wish I could say the same but the make-up person that did my Make-up at Bobby Brown has actually put me off the product for life. Her attitude was horrible and the way she applied the make-up was just as bad as her attitude. In particular her application of under eye concelear was so over done that I ended up looking panda eyed.

We also popped into Zara which lifted my spirits completely as I bought the cutest hat, it’s oversized and floppy fabulous and the sales assistant was super fabulous and friendly. My sister bought an oversized trapeze dress that she looks fantastic in.

We then hot trotted over the street and into the House of Fraser and straight to the Kurt Geiger and Carvela concession where I spotted the boots. Naturally, I wanted to try these fab little booties on and approached the sales lady with my usual sunny smile and asked her if I could please try the boots on in a size 8. The sales person had a strange expression on her face (well it was hostility and aggression, I though perhaps I had asked a shopper instead of a sales assistant but looking down I spotted her name tag and was rather surprised at her rude behaviour) this very hostile person gave me a dirty look, did not say a word and turned on her heel and marched to the middle of the shoe section and just kind of looked around and stood there.

One of the other sales assistants who had observed the interaction and saw how rudely I was treated came over and asked if she could help. I thanked her for coming over but declined her help and mentioned that I was shocked at her colleague’s rude behaviour. She mentioned that Saturday is a very busy day for them I looked around the store and there were only four other customers (three sales assistants vs four customers – Wow how do they cope?) I mentioned that there were only four other shoppers in the shoe section and also indicated that the rude sales assistant did not help anyone else she merely walked away to stand in the middle of the store.

I ended up leaving the store and not in the mood for getting the boots after all.

Well at least now I know why there were only four shoppers on a Saturday morning! Because the sales assistants chase all the customers away with their rude behaviour.

For the Attention of the HR Manager of House of Frazer Oxford Street

Dear House of Fraser in Oxford street,

Do not  worry I will not dream of ever spending a single pound in your store ever again!!

Your sales assistants are the rudest people in the world and are talented NOT at selling but at MAKING PEOPLE RUN OUT OF THE STORE!!

During this credit cruch climate your store IS SURE TO GO UNDER with the rude staff you hire and you’ll be replaced by a Zara. Why? Because the staff are super busy but are always helpful!!!

Posh puts no heels boots on the fashion radar!

September 28, 2008

These no heel boots came to my attention early this year and it was reported that Posh, Uma Thurman and Paltrow were a few of the first celebs to order these boots.

Of course, not everyone will be able to afford these tailor made boots and the sheer uniqueness of this boots will always attract attention (That’s what our celebs what!).

I think this trend will take some time to reach the main stream and in the mean time Posh is able to intensify her fashion credentials and silence her critics as she becomes more confident and daring with her fashion choices. This is a reminder that fashion is about fun and being unique is becoming harder and harder in the fashion world.

Myrte sunglasses are still completely Hot!

September 28, 2008

These shades came out in 2006 and I did warm to them. However this year they came back onto my fashion radar and I think they are exactly what I need to keep the winter blues away. Chloe have recently also launched a new white version that is available at Net-a-porter…

My Campus filled with Paparazzi as Princess Beatrice joins my Uni.

September 24, 2008

I woke up to a chilly Wednesday morning with grey clouds and rain. I contemplated not going to Uni. as the weather was soo bad and I was sure the day was going to suck any way …

Let’s just say we do alot of group work that ends up being pointless and usually frustrating for everyone. Anyhow, that bitchy can be done on a different blog I think.

So I slipped into my skinny jeans, ballet pumps, grey cape and oversized French Connection bag hopped onto the tube and then off again and speed walked up one of the dirtiest streets in London better known as Lewisham way and as I get onto campus I see about 10 photographers waiting for princess Beatrice.

Out of all the university’s why this one? The answer: she followed her boyfriend to Goldsmiths…  so much for being a strong independent woman.

And it only get’s worse I over heard two girls talking and one was like do we need to bow when we see her …

Back from the French Rivera to grey clouds in London!

September 18, 2008

Hi fashionistas,

I hope you are well and life is treating you as it should.

I am back from the most fabulous holiday that I have ever had and completely in love with France, the French Rivera and Parisian fashion (if that’s even possible).

My love affair started with France a while ago and I have been to France before however this time has been the most magical and I suspect it has something to do with hot trotting across the most glamorous parts that France has to offer – Monte Carlo, Cannes and Nice.

I picked up some delicious pieces in an antique store in Monte Carlo two beautiful rings 1940’s and 1950’s and a pair of incredibly chic Chanel earrings dating back to the 1950’s. Who knows maybe it was Princess Graces?

The best beaches, clubs and fashion was in Monte Carlo, incredibly chic and fantastic. Women are confident with their bodies and opt for a sporty look and don’t skim on quality in the least.

The hottest places to go were La Jimmy’s, Hotel De Paris, Moods and The Living Room and the prints on display were predominantly Gucci and LV.

The most common bag on display was the Hermes Birkin bag which is rather ironic as there is nothing common about this hot little darling however I saw it sported in all colors on all types of women.

One book to avoid – Coleen’s Real Style – Yuk!

September 3, 2008

If there’s one book to avoid it’s the WAG favourite –  Coleen McLoughlin Rooney.

Anyhow the hopeless fashion wanna be launched her new fashion book, Coleen’s Real Style, on Monday in Essex. But before the book had a chance to hit the shelves, Coleen was quick to silence her critics:

“I know what the criticism is going to be before the book is even launched. It’s going to be, ‘What does she know about fashion and style she got it wrong here, she got it wrong there’. But those people who criticise me, what do they know about fashion that I don’t know?” she told the Mirror.

Wow the arrogance is unbelievable what a slap in the face to all those struggling fashion design graduates, fashion journalism graduates and all others in the fashion industry that don’t have the celebrity power to publish a book, you know the truth!!
